This year, the DFG-funded CRC1181 “Checkpoints for the Resolution of Inflammation” is awarding the RESOLVE Young Investigator Grant for the first time. This funding supports innovative project ideas of scientists from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and the University Hospital Erlangen in the field of inflammation research.

The funding is intended to enable young scientists to work on an innovative project idea within the field of inflammation research in order to gain preliminary data that will ideally lead to their own project within the third funding period of the CRC1181.

We are looking for project approaches that ideally lead to a content-related expansion of the research activities of the CRC1181. Project outlines that dare to look beyond the horizon, have future potential, are translationally oriented and thematically fit into the research concept of the CRC1181 are eligible for funding. In 2021, one to two ideas will be supported with a one-time grant total 24,000 euros to finance the applicant’s own position.

Postdoctoral researchers who are employed at an institution of the FAU or the Universitätsklinikum Erlangen and whose doctoral degree does not date back more than 6 years at the time of the submission deadline can apply. According to the DFG guidelines for young scientists, parental leave of two years per child will be considered.

Applications must be submitted online via the application form, including a project outline and a curriculum vitae in table form.

Deadline for submission: May 31, 2021.
